HUMAN-FOCUSED AI FOR REAL WORLD SKILLS

In 2024, A-dapt worked with France Travail to apply human-centred AI to one of the hardest challenges in employability: helping people develop the soft skills needed to succeed in real job situations. The focus was not automation, but human performance. Many jobseekers struggle with confidence, emotional regulation and communication, skills that are difficult to teach, hard to scale, and critical at interview.

Using ADAPT Vision, A-dapt’s proprietary emotional-intelligence layer, we built a browser-based learning system that responds to people in real time. The system uses the device camera purely as a sensor to understand attention, engagement and emotional signals, without recording, storing or identifying individuals. Training is delivered through a digital avatar, developed from a real actress and designed to feel credible, human and adaptable. The avatar can be updated dynamically with live employment and regional labour-market information, ensuring content stays aligned with real jobs and opportunities.

A conversational AI agent supports reflection and learning, helping users build emotional intelligence, self-awareness and confidence in a safe, non-judgemental environment. Implemented across operational training environments in France as part of the €15Bn Skills Investment Plan, the project demonstrates how human-centred AI made in Europe can scale internationally when grounded in ethical design, privacy and real-world application.
